Most expensive Phone – iphone 4 “Diamond Rose”

iPhone is well know for it’s creativity especially when it comes to Apps, however iPhone found the way to top itself by getting Stuart Hughes to come up with most expensive iPhone design to date. The most expensive cell phone today iPhone 4 Diamond Rose  costs $8 million dollars topping it’s competitor Goldstriker iPhone 3GS Supreme by $4.8 million.

Where does this price come from ?

Since pure gold is too soft to withstand daily use it is alloyed with mixtures of metals like silver, copper, palladium and zinc for strength and durability. 18k gold is composed of 75% gold and 25% other metals, which makes phone even more expensive and more durable. Majority of platinum pieces is 95% pure and combined with 5% other metals.

And of course most expensive phone must contain diamonds, right ? Well this one has approx 500 individual flawless diamonds which total over 100ct.

The rear section is formed using rose gold with added touch of rose gold Apple logo and 53 diamonds. The main navigation is made from platinum which hold single cut 7.4ct pink diamond which can be replaced with rare 8ct Flawless diamond. The chest which hold unique handset is made from single block of Granite , in Imperial Pink with the inner lined with Nubuck top grain leather, which weight is whopping 7kg. Not surprisingly only two of these masterpieces were made.

Speed:  Dodge initially announced the top speed of the Tomahawk was estimated at 420 miles per hour (680 km/h), but later revised this downward to 300 miles per hour (480 km/h), and spokesmen did not answer questions on how this estimate was calculated. Wolfgang Bernhard, Chrysler Group chief operating officer at the time, said in 2003 that no one had ridden the Tomahawk faster than 100 miles per hour (160 km/h).

Brief “Under the Hood”: the Art Deco design was the work of Chrysler staff designer Mark Walters and featured the 500 horsepower (370 kW) 8.3-litre (510 cu in) V10 SRT10 engine from the Dodge Viper. Torque: 525 lb·ft (712 N·m). Transmission: 2-speed. SUspension: Front: Horizontal double fork. Brakes: Front: 16 piston disc, Rear: 8 piston disc. Tires: Front (2): 20″x4″, Rear (2): 20″x5″. Selling history: Ferrari 250 GTO was made for race driver Stirling Moss, it has become the most expensive car sold in private transaction for $35 million.

Brief history: Ferrari 250 GTO was produced by Ferrari from 1963 to 1964  for homologation into the FIA’s Group 3 Grand Touring Car category. Numeric part of it’s title denotes the displacement in cubic meters of each cylinder of the engine. GTO stands for “Gran Turismo Omologata”, Italian for “Grand Touring Homologated”.When new, the GTO commanded an $18,000 purchase price in the United States, and buyers had to be personally approved by Enzo Ferrari and his dealer for North America, Luigi Chinetti.

Specifications: Ferrari 250 GTO was designed to compete in GT racing. It was based on the 250 GT SWB .Chief engineer Giotto Bizzarrini installed the 3.0 L V12 engine from the 250 Testa Rossa into the chassis from the 250 GT SWB and worked with designer Sergio Scaglietti to develop the body. After Bizzarrini and most other Ferrari engineers were fired in a dispute with Enzo Ferrari, development was handed over to new engineer Mauro Forghieri, who worked with Scaglietti to continue development of the body, including wind tunnel and track testing. Unlike most Ferraris, it was not designed by a specific individual or design house.
